September is National Preparedness Month!
Regardless of whether the emergencies stem from natural disasters or deliberate acts there are many ways we can prepare ourselves, our families, and our communities to be able to respond to such crises as they occur and recover afterwards. This year’s theme is “Prepared, Not Scared.”
Every week this month the Weston Emergency Reserve Corps will be highlighting specific steps that we can all take to be prepared for emergencies. This week's focus is on being financially prepared. While we often think about the importance of having access to food, water, and shelter, don't forget about having access to money during a disaster, and being properly insured to aid in recovery afterwards.
