Is Your Dog Licensed?

You make sure that your dog pal has the best care. From optimum nutrition, to proper vet care, adequate exercise, and of course plenty of love! But do you also make sure your pooch is licensed? Here are a few reasons why licensing your pet is caring for them.

It's the Law

In Massachusetts, it’s a state law that all dogs over the age of six months are licensed in the municipality where they reside. See the legislature for more information.

Help Your Pet Get Home Faster

If your dog wanders away from home, he or she can be quickly identified if wearing their dog license! A quick search in our database and we’ll know your dog’s name, where he or she lives, and your contact information. Then we can give them a free ride home!

Avoid Fines

The fine for not having your dog licensed is more than the license itself. Dogs can be licensed online, by mail, or in person with the Town Clerk. The application and online renewal can be found at www.weston.org/DogLicense. Avoid fines and make sure your dog’s license is up to date!

It Shows Your Dog is Vaccinated

Dogs can only be issued a license if their rabies vaccination is up to date. Put everyone around your dog at ease when a current dog license is displayed showing your dog is protected against the rabies virus. Another bonus - the rabies tag doesn't have to be on the collar if the valid license tag is on the collar.
