Art exhibits are back at the COA!

Our fall show features highlights of Weston resident, Herb Randle’s portraits and landscapes from his 60-year career as a painter. Herb is a fixture at the COA as a member of the COA Arts Council, a devoted participant in the COA art community and a mentor to many. He has exhibited extensively throughout New England including the North Shore Arts Association, DeCordova Museum and Florentine Frames in Weston. Join us for a reception Tuesday, October 11, 11:30-12:30 or stop by the COA any time to enjoy Herb’s artwork.

There are a few spots left on our private guided tour of Mount Auburn Cemetary, Wednesday, October 12, 12:30-3:45.

Designated a National Historic Landmark, Mount Auburn is one of the country’s most significant designed landscapes. Here, the arts of horticulture, architecture and sculpture combine with the beauty of nature to create a place of comfort and inspiration. This 90-minute walking tour will focus on the stories of history, monuments and the lives of those buried here. Rain or shine. Cost: $15, includes tour and transportation. Seen through American eyes, the Revolution marks a triumphant moment. Through British eyes, it looked quite different. To the King, the war for independence was an affront, a temper tantrum by an ungrateful colonial rabble. But, as historian Richard Bell explains, beyond the palace and Parliament, British responses to the war were anything but monolithic.
