A book sale with delicious bake sale treats. Duh. 


Can we talk about how awesome book sales are? You can get used books in giftable condition for a fraction of the price of buying new. Amazing. Now add a bake sale filled with expertly decorated cookies, delectable pies (perfect for freezing and passing off as your own on Thanksgiving), and other goodies and you have pretty much the best thing ever. Classes and events at the Weston Art and Innovation Center

The Weston AIC, the makerspace branch of the Weston Public Library, offers classes and events for all kinds of makers and doers! Click on the links below for more information and to register. 

Needle Felted Polar Bear: Nov 4, Using soft unspun sheep’s wool and a felting needle, participants will create a beautiful polar bear to decorate their home for the winter. All materials will be provided.
Cost: $45

Weavers' Guild of Boston Annual Sale: Nov 5-7, The Weavers’ Guild of Boston offers shoppers a wide range of over 1600 individually handcrafted items. There is an extensive collection of creative clothing, including scarves and shawls, jackets, hats and jewelry. Household items such as blankets, rugs, placemats, and towels are available as well. Most items are handwoven, though knitted, felted and/or sewn pieces are also available.

Fix-It First: Knife Sharpening: Nov 13, Ever since humans invented blades, they had to figure out how to sharpen them. In this Fix-It First workshop, we will be learning about metals, edges, and sharpening. Bring your dull knives, scissors, chisels, planes, hedge clippers, shovels, etc. or just come empty-handed to watch and learn.

Weston Handmade Holiday Market: Nov 20, Get a jump start on all of your holiday shopping! The Weston Handmade Holiday Market features a curated selection of exhibitors selling handmade and hand-designed items. Celebrate the season with artisan-crafted goods and find something for everyone on your list!

Thanksgiving Cornucopia: Nov 21, Compose a wonderful Thanksgiving centerpiece representing the bountiful fall harvest. Also called the horn of plenty, the cornucopia arrangement is typically composed of gourds, flowers, and dried material making an overflowing seasonal tablescape.
Cost: $75
