COA Community Updates
July Reflections

July was all about giving back! This month, we hosted our first ever Chalk-a-Palooza! Residents of all ages gathered together and had fun helping us decorate our sidewalk in a community art project.

Residents donated 2 carloads full of home good items for Welcome Home, a nonprofit organization in Newton that collects and redistributes like-new household items to local families and individuals experiencing hardship with basic household items they need to live with dignity. Thank you to everyone who donated for making a difference in the community with your kindness!

We continued to increase our in-person programming safely as well as our incredible repertoire of well-loved Zoom programs. Some highlights were:

  • Weekly Tuesday morning walks on the Legacy Trail
  • Weston Scramblers golf group
  • Small group fitness training
  • Weekly fitness classes plus monthly trail walk
  • Virtual presentations and programs including Da Vinci, Mesa Cliff Dwellings, New Treatments in Osteoarthritis and Falls Prevention
