its wicked hot out. cool down at the wpl.

Westonians may be hearty New Englanders, but extreme heat is nothing to fool around with. This week, the library is open:

  • Monday-Thursday 10 AM-9 PM
  • Friday 10 AM-6 PM
  • Saturday 10 AM-5 PM

We have
wonderfully cool air conditioning, comfy chairs, books, computers, and so much more. You are welcome to stay as long as you like; just make sure to bring a mask. Looking for another spot to escape the heat? Here are some other cooling centers around town:

  • Town Hall - 8:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Community Center (COA/Recreation) - 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Police Station Training Room - open 24 hours.

Representation matters

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer characters are not sidekicks in these books. They feature front and center.

Amazing characters make amazing stories:

  • All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson (audiobook)
  • Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe (digital graphic novel)
  • Oranges are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson (eBook)
Looking for more? Oh, we've got more. Take a look at this awesome booklist that includes tempting titles like "David Bowie Made Me Gay"  and "Love and Other Hot Beverages."
