Summer Brunch Cooking Class

Tuesday, June 8, 1:00-3:00 on Zoom

Learn how to make a brunch that will brighten any summer day. Chef Roberta Hing will begin with pillowy pecan sticky buns followed by a breakfast risotto topped with the perfect poached egg. A refreshing orange and avocado salad with a ginger sesame dressing will finish off our meal. Cook along with the class or just watch and ask questions. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.

Take a deep dive into the daring and notorious art heist that rocked Boston, and the world, in this 4-part Netflix. In the early morning hours of March 18, 1990, guards admitted two men dressed as police offers into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The result? Virtual Tour & History of the House of Seven Gables

We’re bringing history to you with a virtual trip to the House of Seven Gables from the comfort of your home. Gables staff will present a short video tour featuring professional photography and video of the historic 1668 structure. Following the video, you will have the chance to ask questions and chat with two of their historical interpreters. Curious about early New England architecture, the history of Salem or are you a big Hawthorne fan and want to learn more about this fascinating figure in American history? The Role of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Pandemics

Local and Global Discussion Group 

Thursday, June 10, 1:15-3:00 on Zoom


The presentation will include the Great Decisions Foreign Policy Association video describing the WHO from a historical perspective leading to the organization’s global responsibilities during the COVID pandemic. Discussion will include an update on statistics related to COVID-19, the challenge of global vaccination priorities, and the inequities of vaccination access. These meetings are open to all interested in a civil discussion of the issues with a wide variety of participants. Have you heard of the Jerusalema Dance Challenge that has swept the world? Our Level 2 Weston COA Line Dancers recently participated in the uplifting challenge and had a lot of fun doing it! Check out their video.

Announcing the Weston Summer Concert Series Sponsored by Cambridge Trust
The Weston Recreation Department is excited to announce that the Summer Concert Series is back with three shows for 2021.  Shows will start at 7 PM on the Field School Field on alternating Wednesdays starting June 23.

This season features two bands with Weston ties - Crossroad on June 23 and the Dave Sammarco Band on July 21.  The Twangtown Paramours will play the second show on July 7. For more details, visit the Summer Concert Series website or call 781-786-6260.
