Nutrition and Sleep: Fascinating Connections for the Active-agerMonday, March 29, 11:00-12:00 on ZoomGood nutrition and restful sleep go hand in hand. When one is compromised, it can disrupt the other. Learn from Tricia Silverman, registered dietitian and wellness coach, how sleeping well can help active-agers control their weight and revitalize their minds and bodies. See how a lack of sleep impacts hormones, which can affect hunger, appetite, glucose regulation, muscle mass and more. Discover foods, herbs, teas and nutrients that can enhance sleep and others that may interfere with it and find out about the healthy habits that set the stage for better sleep in the active-aging years. This program will be recorded. Contact Kristen to sign up, frady.k@westonma.gov

PragueWednesday, March 31, 1:00-2:00 on ZoomKnown as the “City of a Hundred Spires” and “The Mother of Castles,” the capital of the Czech Republic offers visitors the domes of churches, centuries-old palaces, historic bridges and charming buildings. On Prague's cobblestone streets, you can still get a feel for the medieval heart of Europe. Join us as we visit Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock, the Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle, among other places, and dip into Czech culture and cuisine. Around TownLand’s Sake Farm is growing - Come and Grow With Us!To our friends of the farm, we are excited to invite you to a virtual community informational session on March 31st at 7:30pm to learn about Land’s Sake Farm’s vision for the future.
As many of you know, for the past 40 years, Land’s Sake Farm has been at the heart of Weston, nurturing our community through sustainable farming, hunger relief and education for children and adults. After receiving a long term lease on our current land, we began a strategic plan to envision a model community farm, fully sustainable to nurture our community even further. Our new infrastructure will significantly increase the impact we can have on the community and beyond - reaching more children, more older adults, more schools and more hunger relief partners. We are now in phase 1 of a two phase capital campaign to develop our infrastructure operations.
We can’t wait to share this exciting chapter with you all and look forward to presenting our plan on Wednesday, March 31st at 7:30pm. To RSVP please register here. We welcome all feedback and questions at community@landssake.org. Thank you for your support!
