The latest word with cross out and "letter"

We know you're busy, so you may not have time to read an entire "Latest Word" this week, so we've boiled it down to "The Latest Letter." You do have time for just a little letter, right? Here are the most important things you should know about what is going on at the Weston Public Library this week.

Open Saturdays 12-5 pm

The Weston Public Library is very excited to announce a return to in-library browsing and computer use, 7 days a week. Here is the skinny:

In an effort to make it easier for patrons to safely visit the Weston Public Library and to stay in compliance with local health orders, we have put in place a state-of-the art system to monitor library occupancy. What does that mean for our patrons?

  • Patrons will no longer need to reserve an appointment to visit the library. Just pop by during our browsing times listed below
  • As you walk in, you will see a monitor to your right. If the screen is green and shows a picture of a door, come on in! If the screen is red and has a stop sign, please wait until others leave before entering.
  • Once inside, please fill out a contact tracing slip.
  • Patrons must still limit their visit to 30 minutes or less, wear a mask covering their nose and mouth, and observe social distancing guidelines.

If you want to get an idea of how busy the library is right now or to check if you can come in before leaving your car, check out our real-time tracking tool.

Browsing hours:

Mon. 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Tues., Wed., Thurs. 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM  60+ and underlying health conditions only, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM normal browsing
Saturday 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

If you prefer to limit your time out and about, the library continues to offer curbside pickup. Visit our curbside and browsing webpage for more information.

Virtual Race Amity lecture with William H. Smith, E. D.

Tuesday, March 9, 7-8:30 PM

Join us for a powerful and uplifting presentation on Race Amity, hosted by William Smith. "Race relations in America won't improve unless the public discourse and analysis of history moves beyond blame, grievance and rejection," said Boston-based film producer William H. "Smitty" Smith. "We also need to look at a parallel phenomenon--enduring friendships between people of different races that have created profound, historic change." Smith has devoted his life to shedding light on those relationships, which he said reflect "race amity.
