Intergenerational Turkey Trail Walk on Weston’s new Legacy Trail
Saturday, November 21, 10amGrab your walking shoes and face mask and join us for a morning walk on Weston’s new Legacy Trail. The Weston Council on Aging and the Weston Recreation Department are hosting a pre-Thanksgiving Turkey Trail Walk on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m. (rain date is Sunday, November 22). All ages welcome. The walk is approximately 2 miles long, along the newly finished Legacy Trail. We will start in front of the Council on Aging on Alphabet Lane, and head to the overlook site, a patio with a scenic view, benches, and engraved pavers, then we will walk through the pine woods trail and back to Alphabet Lane to complete the walk. All COVID safety standards will be followed. Pre-registration is required on Weston Recreation's website

Recycling and Composting in Weston Tuesday, November 17, 11:00 on ZoomWeston produces more trash per household than many other comparable communities around us. The Town is working hard to change this and they need your help. Join recycling staff and representatives from Weston to learn more about what is being done to update programs at the Transfer Station, improve resident education about what can be recycled and bring new offerings to households such as composting of food scraps. Reducing what we waste and throw away is a simple but impactful step each of us can take to improve our environment.

Trail WalkTuesday, November 17 Meet at 12:50 Walk Begins Promptly at 1:00Join a Weston Forest and Trail Association member for a scenic guided trail walk of Doublet Hill Conservation Area. There is ample parking at the end of Doublet Hill Rd. Due to the chillier fall weather, the walk will be one hour. Participants will be notified by 10:00 am if walk is cancelled due to inclement weather. Limit: 12 participants. All attendees are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Please wear walking or hiking shoes.
