Calling all crafters, gardeners, and DIYers!

If we have learned one thing from this challenging situation, it is that we are stronger, more inventive, and and more resourceful that we ever thought we could be! In this issue we will help kids become pop-up book authors and illustrators, help you get crafty, and bring the whole family into garden.

As a reminder, the library remains closed for the time being in coordination with local/federal directives. Please do not return borrowed materials to the library at this time.To read more about the Library's response to COVID-19/coronavirus, please click here. For updates and information about COVID-19 from the Town of Weston, please visit Weston.org/Covid19 and Weston.org/Health.

Virtual Program for Creative Kids: Pop Up Book Workshop

Pop Up Book Workshop
If you ever wondered how authors and illustrators make amazing pop-up books, wonder no more! Youth Services Librarian, Kelly Wood, will show you how to make your own pop up book one technique at a time in this virtual Pop Up Book Workshop. Every few days, we will be adding a video for the next step in your creation to our YouTube channel. The first video on making talking mouths just launched, so head over to the Weston Public Library YouTube channel to get started!
Pinterest DIY

DIY Pinterest Crafting is Back!

Our ever-popular DIY Pinterest Crafting program is back, but this time on YouTube! While we hope to be able to craft together in person again soon, one of our favorite crafters, Dominque Viglas, has recorded a simple and useful DIY Pinterest craft for you to try- fabric hangers! Get a little taste of our popular DIY Pinterest Craft program with this fun and easy at-home craft. Here is what you will need: plastic hangers, any kind of cotton fabric (scraps are fine!), and a strong adhesive. Now just visit the WPL YouTube Channel to get crafty!

Reminder: Sign Up for Virtual Book Group

Just a reminder, you can still join in on Virtual Book Group. We have picked a short book with a lot of local interest, Writers and Lovers by Lily King. The book is available on Hoopla Digital at https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/12838962 and using the Hoopla App.

After reading the book, join us for a virtual book discussion using Zoom on May 20th, at 7 PM. Simply email wsnmail2@minlib.net to register (just so we know where to send the Zoom meeting link).
