Paving Details

The paving work is broken down into two major sections:

  • Week of April 13th - westerly portion
  • Week of April 20th - easterly portion
The approximate line of demarcation between east and west portions is Center Street. Note that this work is weather dependent for the particular paving operation referenced below.

Westerly Portion

This portion of the roadway work is approximately Center Street to just west of Fiske Lane.
  • grinding of the existing roadway is the first step, which will take 4 days +/-
  • grinding will remove approximately 8” of roadway
  • ramps in and out of driveways, etc. will be installed
  • base pavement within the same limits is anticipated to occur on April 17th
  • binder pavement within the same limits is anticipated to occur on April 18th
  • The work day to install both base and binder pavement will start early, 6:00 a.m. +/-, due to the process and access through intersections
Once the above work is completed, the contractor will begin on the easterly end of the project.

Easterly Portion

This portion of the roadway work is approximately Center Street to just east of School Street.
  • grinding of the existing roadway is the first step, which will take 4 days +/-
  • grinding will remove approximately 8” of roadway
  • ramps in and out of driveways, etc. will be installed
  • base pavement within the same limits is anticipated to occur on April 24th
  • binder pavement within the same limits is anticipated to occur on April 25th or 27th
  • The work day to install both base and binder pavement will start early, 6:00 a.m. +/-, due to the process and access through intersections
  • Town House Road will be two directions of travel while work is in the area of the Church Street intersection. Detours will be employed.

Once the pavement work is completed, the contractor will start raising the subsurface structures the following week.
