Trail Walk: Then & Now at Louisa Case’s Farm
Tuesday, June 7, 2022
Walk and learn about the lesser-known estate structures situated at the geographic center of Weston. See the magnificent “Louisa’s Wall”, Marion’s Cow Barn, the giant European Beech tree, the glacial erratic from which the Cases named their mansion. We’ll cross Case’s Corner at an example of an English “Ha-Ha”, then see a farmhouse built for Louisa’s head gardener, John Mele, 100 years ago. The walk will wrap up in the present day with Land’s Sake’s exciting
new timber-frame barn built with Weston white pine.
Walk leader Nina Danforth is an environmental educator who was on Harvard’s
Case Estates staff in the 1980’s and a board member of the Weston Historical Society. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.
