Historic Areas
An Historic Area is a neighborhood or street documented with a Massachusetts Historical Commission Area Form (A). Areas must be at least 50 years old and are chosen because of their historical or architectural interest, visual cohesiveness, and / or because they embody a particular sense of place. In some cases, Historic Areas were later nominated to the National Register of Historic Places as National Register Historic Districts.

Case Estates Area
The Case Estates Area and Maple Road/Wellesley Street Area were later combined to form the Case’s Corner Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Chestnut Street Area
The Chestnut Street Area was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 1998.

Chiltern Hundreds Area
The Chiltern Hundreds Area is a subdivision developed beginning in the mid-1920s in the southeast corner of Weston.

The Church Street / Coburn Area is one important area in Weston where the rural landscape has been prominently preserved.

Glen Road Area
The Glen Road Area was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 1994.

The Hultman Aqueduct Area was documented in 1985 by Louis Berger and Associates.

Irving Road Area
Irving Road Area was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 2007.

Jones Road Area
The Jones Road Area encompasses a narrow dead-end street off Boston Post Road in the central “village” area of Weston.

Kendal Common Area
Kendal Common is a neighborhood of post-World War II Modern-style houses located in the northeast corner of Weston at the intersection of North Avenue and Lexington Streets.

Kendal Green Area
The Kendal Green Area was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 1994 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 as the Kendal Green Historic District, with slightly different boundaries.

Love Lane Area
Love Lane is one of the best examples in Weston of an narrow scenic road where the early 20th century rural character of the town has been preserved.

Lower Conant Area
The Lower Conant Area contains a total of 17 houses dating between 1870 and 1950, with all but two dating before World War I.

Maple Road / Wellesley Street Area
The Maple Road / Wellesley Street Area was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 1994. The area was later combined with the Case Estates Area to create the Case’s Corner Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 2002.

Mordecai Leadbetter House & Barn
The Mordecai Leadbetter House and Barn at 285 Winter Street is protected by a Preservation Restriction dating November 19, 2004 and held by Historic New England.

North Avenue Area
The North Avenue Area is one of several places along this early main road where historic resources are concentrated.

North Village Area
The North Village Area covers a 1/3 of a mile stretch of North Avenue between Conant and Merriam Street in the northwest corner of Weston. The area is important, not so much for the high architectural quality of the houses but because they retain a degree of consistency of age, massing and setback.

Orchard Avenue Area
Orchard Avenue is a narrow, curvilinear former estate road, now a private road, which runs through a quiet, secluded neighborhood in the southeast corner of Weston.

Pigeon Hill Area
This early suburban neighborhood of substantial middle class homes–the 1st of its kind in Weston– is set on a hill in the geographical center of the town, just north of the abandoned railroad tracks of the former Central Massachusetts Railroad.

The Pinecroft Subdivision Area is a quiet, wooded neighborhood of middle-class houses, most built between 1930 and 1955.

Spruce Hill Road is a dead-end subdivision road within the “King’s Grant” neighborhood off North Avenue (Route 117) on the north side of Weston.

Sudbury Road, one of Weston’s officially designated Scenic Roads, is a narrow winding country road in a remote northwest corner of the town.

Summer Street Area
The northern end of Summer Street, between house nos. 11 and 51, is an area that conveys a distinctive “sense of place” despite a wide diversity of house styles ranging in age from 1860 to 1963.

The Warren Avenue Area is located in the center of Weston just off Boston Post Road and was documented by the Weston Historical Commission in 2005.

The Webster Hill Area, located in the northeast corner of Weston, developed in the 1910s and 1920s as a neighborhood of comfortable middle class homes.
