Raising Resiliency and Mindfulness in Children
The Weston PTO Parent Education committee and the Friends of the Weston Public Library are excited to welcome Fiona Jensen of Calmer Choice, who will address resiliency through the practice of mindfulness, March 17th from 7-9pm in the Weston High School Media Center. Calmer Choice is a universal prevention program currently serving over 22,000 students in 18 schools on the Cape. Informed by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, as well as ongoing research with Tufts and Yale, the program is committed to teaching young people how to effectively and safely manage stress and resolve conflict so that they live happy, healthy, and successful lives. Their goal is to provide skills that will diminish the risk of violence, substance abuse, and other self-destructive behaviors.
Please note: Location for program is the Weston High School Media Center
